Rare Texas Kepi Cap

Extremely rare Texas Militia Unit kepi cap from the Spanish American War era. It has the   type of bullion embroidered Texas insignia used by Texas units during the Civil War.  Its possible this hat is a survivor from the Teddy Roosevelt Rough Riders. The Rough Riders were formed in San Antonio in 1898 by Teddy Roosevelt. The hat is most likely an officers hat as it has the high quality bullion TEXAS logo. It was the responsibility of officers to buy their own uniform and head gear. This cap might be a custom made one of a kind kepi from a rare Texas militia unit from Texas. In any case or scenario it is a very rare hat and Texas military relic to be sure. I have never seen another in 22 years…
