Wonderful 36 Star Civil War era flag with very rare star pattern called a “Medallion”. Framed in a antique period frame. Made by stenciling on to starched gauze fabric. The 36 Star flag was voted into the Union by Congress on October 31st 1864. Flag makers stopped making 35 Star Flags at this time and started making the next new flag which was the 36 Star.
