36 Star Flag Civil War Era
36 Star Flag Civil War Era with an extremely rare star arrangement. The flag is also rare because it is so small. Small antique flags like this are actually much more rare than larger flags. Made of starched gauze and stenciling made one at a time. A portion of the original stick is still attached. Most 36 Star flags started to appear in 1864 as everyone know Congress was going to admit the 36th State so why make 35 star flags which would be quickly obsolete and unsalable. Abraham Lincoln was President when this flag was made and used.
We use modern museum framing technology to frame our antique flags. Our in house professional framers use only conservation framing methods used by museums. We only use acid free and gas free materials along with safe ultra clear UV acrylic.
