Rare 1891 Vermont 14th State 13 Star Flag
This is quite a unique authentic antique American Flag as it has 14 stripes with 13 Stars.
The flag and the star pattern is like "Old Glory" the famous flag hanging in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC called The Star Spangled Banner Flag.
It was common in the late 1800's for States to make Centennial Flags to commemorate their entry into the Union.
This flag has 13 Stars and 14 Stripes to mark the 100th anniversary of Vermont entering the Union as the 14th State in 1791 making this flag from 1891.

Silk was very expensive back then as only the wealthy and high ranking military officers could afford a flag like this.
With rare alternating up-side-down stars.

Authentic antique American 36 Star Flag from the Civil War.
The 36 Star Flag was voted in by Congress in October of 1864 at which time flag makers stopped making 35 star flags and started making 36 star flags even though the 36 star would not be official till July 4th 1865.

Extremely Rare 35 Star Halo Flag
An extremely rare parade flag with 35 stars.
The stars are arranged in circles called a "Medallion Pattern" but this flag also has the center star with a "Halo" around it, making it a Halo flag. Without the halo it would be called a Great Star Flag.
Made of a fabric that is similar to oil cloth or a light weight canvas which is very unusual.
Dates from 1863 to 1865 the height of the Civil War.
Abraham Lincoln was President during this period.

A very unusual flag as there are two sizes of stars and the stars are arranged vertically instead of the normal horizontal fashion.
The 39 Star was instantly obsolete when the Union added five States at one time on July 4th 1890.

This very rare 38 star flag came from the GAR Post in Gettysburg, called the Skelly Post No. 9 which is imprinted on the bottom right corner of this flag.
The flag features an extremely rare square "medallion" style star arrangement with a large center star.
The flag is made of spun wool with sewn edges.
The 38 Star Flags dates from 1877 to 1890.
The flag came from the collection of a major collector who purchased the contents of this GAR post many years ago.
