Macerated currency items were produced by The US Treasury from 1890 to the Hoover Administration.
They were made from "Greenbacks" American currency taken out of circulation by the Treasury Dept.
This hat is 3 1/4" wide x 2 3/4" wide x 2" high

The label on the side says: "made of US National Greenbacks redeemed and macerated at The US Treasury estimated $5,000.00 Made at Washington DC"

Top hats were the fashion of the day plus they were associated with being worn by The Presidents.

18 is calculated as the war started when we had 33 States for the first half of 1861 and a total of 15 States succeeded or sided with the south leaving 18 States.

Home made, hand loomed rug flag made of home spun cotton, natural dyes with hand cut & sewn stars.

The flag appears that it has always been hung on a wall versus used on the floor as a rug as the only wear areas are where nails or hooks were used to attach it to a wall.

Large antique pewter water tankard or lemonade pitcher.

Massive patriotic engraving on both sides of a Federal eagle over the world with a Revolutionary War 1776 flag and the large numerals 1876.

Made for the Centennial held in Philadelphia as a showpiece. It has double wall construction. The outer wall does have several dents that do show up in the photographs however they are not that noticeable in person.

Also has ornamentation on spout, the handle and top.

Very impressive piece.

Great looking pennant with 36 stars bordered by blue bands with red lettering that has turned a great orange color which is typical of flags that are older than 100 years.

A wonderful and most unique piece of Americana.
A hand painted stage coach door panel with a hand painted American Flag on the front.
It is my estimation that the stage door dates from the 1880's and the flag was apinted on at some later time.
The door is painted a great dark green with incredible and beautiful pin strip embellishments.
It is said this door came from Texas but I cannot prove that fact.

There was a hand written note attached to the dress that is framed in a window box below the dress.
The note says; "This apron was made during the Civil War for Alice daughter of C.R. Anderson.
AMA
For Alice Anderson her namesake written in 1907."

A fantastic hand made hand painted metal top hat used as a trade sign.

Several layers of original paint can be seen.
Varies metal contraptions are attached to the hat inside and out where the maker or owner used to attach the hat to a bracket which was attached to a building.

ANTIQUE FOLK ART TIN EAGLE

Wonderful hand made antique folk art eagle flag staff topper made of individual hand cut and painted tin to look like individual feathers.

His tail feathers are long gone but that does not take away from the look.

Since he was made to sit atop a flag pole originally his top side was not covered with tin feathers. A conservator made exact representations of the feathers and applied them to the top so now if you do look down on him his top is finished.

Truly a great piece of original antique Americana.
